we were simply stars

we loved each other, but yet we were millions of miles apart, so we accepted

we accepted and we still shone, letting the other stars know, yes, I still love you

we are all simply stars

shining hopeless to let people know that we are there, but most of us grow dim with loneliness and we explode

we shatter and create stardust, which might land on some's check

oh well, we think, at least we could touch something
